Condition: Lined, possible old retouch to background.

Christie's auction labels on the stretcher and frame. Other miscellaneous numbers/inscriptions on the stretcher, including a fragmentary blue label with the number "7812D..." and a chalk inscription, perhaps "Cl Varn."

Framed dimensions are 26 x 25 1/2 in.

There is an area of thin pigment about 5 inches up from the lower left corner and measuring about three inches overall. The surface of the painting is not totally smooth in the u.l. corner, but nothing fluoresces there at this point. Lining was done long enough ago that it is hard to determine exactly if or where any in-painting was done.
