Published as part of Joseph Frederick Wallet Des Barres's (1722-1824) massive marine atlas, The Atlantic Neptune, this sprawling map of the Atlantic coast of North America depicts the Long Island Sound in its northernmost section, and extends down the seaboard illustrating all ports and inlets southward in great detail, ending at Cape Lookout, Outer Banks, North Carolina.
