Including: an autograph letter signed 9 June 1943 on Waldorf-Astoria letterhead, to Samuel Stark Gertzen, "It's 4 A.M. & I'm slightly plastered but you must know that my big event of 1943 was the Great Gertzen. As for the gifts, Number One, Number Two, and Number Three, they merely make me repeat the fact that Cole Loves Sam! Isn't it curious how quickly one moves [arrow pointing to Waldorf-Astoria name]," matted and framed with a portrait, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.; [and] typed letter signed, 30 August 1958 to a Miss Stern, thanking her for sending photographs of the Palazzo Rezzonico, 10 x 6 3/4 in., matted and framed with a portrait.
