Provenance: Descended in the Reverend Devotion and Waldo families of Scotland, Connecticut; purchased from Liverant.
Note: The Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London held an exhibition (and published a catalog) in 1991, titled The Devotion Family: the lives and possessions of three generations in eighteenth-century Connecticut.
