Ames Presentation Sword, c. 1840s-60s, gilt-brass hilt with an eagle pommel, faceted grip with engraved foliate designs, crossguard has a spreadwing eagle peering through a wreath, blade lightly marked "Ames/Chicopee" on the ricasso, straight double edge with a central fuller engraved with foliate designs, panoply of arms, and an eagle, gilt-brass scabbard with applied foliate designs at the upper band and drag, blade lg. 31, overall lg. 37 1/2 in.

Crossguard is a little loose, Ames marking is very light, blade is in very good condition, scabbard has a few light dings.
