Description:
Militia Shako, c. mid-19th century, blue broadcloth body over pasteboard, a vent on the crown, leather trim around the base and a leather visor, two brass general service buttons on each side, a stamped-brass insignia on the front with an "I" in the center, and a maker's label inside marked "J.H. McKenney & Co./CONTRACT OF 18" with the last numbers missing.

Some moth holes and the visor is separating from the body. In overall good condition.
