Continental-made Sword for the American Market, c. early 19th century, brass hilt with bird's head pommel, wire-wrapped leather grip, steel blade with a single fuller with half of the blade blued and with crude gilt foliate designs, panoply of arms, and American motifs, leather scabbard with a brass throat and drag, blade lg. 27, overall lg. 32 1/2 in.

Some patination on the hilt and wear on the leather grip, throat is loose on the scabbard, in overall good condition.
