Description:
Polish-Hungarian Parade Shield, c. 17th century, wrought from wootz steel with a forged-in border decorated with bands of vinework, gilded and engraved mounts embellished with green enamel, with seven gilded ovate tabs, twenty-four gilded studs each set with five turquoise in concentric rings, reverse with a pair of bronze lugs and rings for a leather grip, dia. 16 5/8 in.
