Intricately Carved Powder Horn, c. late 18th to early 19th century, horn carved with foliate designs, compass work, ships, an eagle, American flags, cannon, British flags, a tombstone, masonic symbols, Native American, soldier with a musket, an anchor, the sun, fish, panoply of arms, houses, with the initials "IE" or "IF" at the base, and near the spout "John" with the rest undecipherable, with a brass plug with concentric circles, and a brass spout, overall lg. 17 in.
Note: This horn was published in Powder Horns and Their Architecture by Madison Grant in 1987.

Horn has a few worm holes but is in very good condition with very nice carving, and the spring on the spout it broken.
