U.S. Model 1795 Springfield Type I Flintlock Musket, c. 1805-06, .71 bore, walnut stock with an "M" stamped just below the trigger guard, steel fittings, lock marked "US" just in front of the cock, marked on the tail of the lock "SPRINGFIELD/1805," buttplate tang marked "1806," breech of the barrel marked "P/V," barrel lg. 44, overall lg. 59 1/4 in.
