Condition: Minor retouch, craquelure, surface grime.
N.B. Based upon the colorman's stamp from Patrick Shea, the copy is presumed to date from the 1870s or later. The portrait is misidentified as after Gainsborough on an auction label affixed to the stretcher.

The P. Shea colorman's stencil is oval in format and has the address of 21 Warren Street. Patrick Shea operated his business out of this address 1871-1874 and again later 1883-1897.
