Yellow-glazed Staffordshire Francis Burdett Commemorative Jug, England, early 19th century, bulbous shape with silver lustre trimming black transfers to either side, one with portrait inscribed "The determined enemy of corruption & the constitutional friend of his SOVEREIGN," the reverse inscribed "Sir Francis Burnett Bart M.P. Committed to the Tower 6 April 1810 by the House of Commons for firmly and disinterestedly asserting the legal rights of the British people," ht. 4 1/2 in.
