J.C. Brown "Acorn" Shelf Clock, Forestville, Connecticut, c. 1845, "acorn"-form case with painted zinc roman numeral dial signed "Forestville Manfg. Co./Bristol, Ct. U.S.A.," the lower transfer-printed tablet depicting and marked "Merchant's Exchange, Philadelphia," all flanked by laminated side ornaments capped with acorn finials, lyre-shaped brass eight-day time and strike movement with detached fusees in the bottom of the clock, green/blue interior paper backboard, ht. 24 1/2 in.
