Thwarted. Signed "AWBayes" l.r., identified and titled on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 24 x 36 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Puncture with surrounding paint loss to center, approximate 1 1/4 in. paint loss, small area of loss near u.l. edge, possible small area of retouch near l.r. corner.

Small puncture to c.r. edge in the side of the garden stairs with minor surrounding paint loss. Small pucture, perhaps a nail hole, in tree trunk at center left edge.

Canvas stencil from P. Shea, Tottenham Court Road, London, on the reverse. Patrick Shea (1839-1911) was in business at this address 1875-1882

Framed dimensions are 35 5/8 x 47 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.
