Seashell-inlaid and Lacquered Covered Box, Japan, Meiji period, Ryukyuan-style round box decorated with a landscape on the cover top, three floral sprays to the box base, roses to the interiors, respectively, mark on base, ht. 1 3/8, dia. 4 1/4 in.
Provenance: Sold by H. Nishimura's Lacquer Factory, Kyoto, to Mrs. Verne Fryklund in 1960, with receipt.
