Description:
Hanging Scroll Pungjukdo, Korea, 18th/19th century, possibly by Shin Wi (1769-1845),depicting slender bamboo stalks with leaves blowing in the wind, with a seal reading "Jaha," an inscription in seal script on reverse, with a box dated "gyeyu" and signed with a collector's seal, ink on paper, painting 48 x 17 1/2 in.
Provenance: Acquired in Seoul, Korea, in the 1960s by an American businessman who returned to the U.S. in 1968; purchased by the present owner in 2003.
