Semiformal Embroidered Robe, China, early 20th century, the front and back decorated with roundels containing auspicious and scholarly objects, surrounded by vase arrangements and censers, on a gold-threaded ground, with contrasting trim and sleeve bands decorated with similar motifs and incorporating flowers, encased in a Lucite case, robe lg. 40, case 48 1/4 x 45 1/4 x 4 1/4 in.
