Note: The small Pacific island Nii-jima, administered by Tokyo, has a renowned glass art center, built and run by Osamu and Yumiko Noda, graduates of Illinois State University, where they studied with Joel Philip Myers. Every autumn, the Nii-jima International Glass Art Festival takes place inviting top international glass artists for demonstrations and seminars.
