Paint-decorated Chest over Two Drawers, Connecticut, early 18th century, the hinged top above a well, on single arch-molded case of two faux short drawers, one faux long drawer, and two working drawers, all on turned feet, old black-painted surface with floral decoration in white, red, and black, (imperfections),ht. 42, wd. 37, dp. 17 1/2 in.

old triangular (3x6in.) patch to lower board of case at front left where foot attaches, another similar patch where a back foot attaches. narrow rectangular patch to lid near one hinge and smaller patch at front left. lower molding replaced. chunks missing from the drawerfronts as well where the dovetails have expanded and contracted over time.
