Pastel on paper cutout and applied to a light blue painted background, showing the young lady in front view, with dark curls and a comb, and an applied necklace in black paper and gold foil, 20 1/2 x 17 in., framed.
Condition: Foxing in neck.
Provenance: Sotheby's, The Bertram and Nina Fletcher Little Collection, Lot 313.
Note: A label on the back reads "Journal of Ruth Henshaw Bascom, 29 October 1842 at Leicester 'After dinner went over to Justus H's (Henshaw's - and reframed Mr. Morrisons crayon frontview picture being without (20 years) got injured by a mischievous child. (Journal at Am. Ant. Soc. Worcester).'"
