Small Black-painted and Paint-decorated Daybed, probably England, early 18th century, the shaped and scrolled crest above seven flat vertical slats and joining turned stiles, on a base of six similarly turned stiles, legs, and stretchers, modern plywood platform and thin wool cushion over a caned seat, old black paint with subtle foliate designs in red, yellow, and white, (imperfections),ht. 35 1/2, lg. 55 in.
