Flame-stitch Wall Pocket, probably Dutchess County, New York, c. 1756, the triangular back with single pocket below stitched in zigzag pattern with shades of yellow, green, blue, and red threads, the back with embroidered inscription "IANE FIELD/1756," ht. 8 1/2, wd. 6 7/8 in.

Note: Jane Field was born August 18, 1733 in Dutchess County, New York. She married Samuel Coe (1735-1768) in December of 1757, and died January 17, 1808, in Putnam County, New York.
