George Washington Carved Walnut Pike Barometer, B. Pike & Sons, New York, c. 1870-80, with elaborately carved crest of deep foliate scrolls centering a rose, above the beveled glass revealing a bone scale signed by the maker in block lettering, and indicators in fanciful lettering, the throat below with thermometer, all upon a convex carved profile portrait bust of George Washington flanked by scrolls, (minor imperfections),ht. 46 1/4 in.
