Paul Sormani Louis XV-style Kingwood-veneered Table a Jeu, France, late 19th century, oak secondary wood, top of four triangular sections open to form square gaming surface, single drawer with bail pull, apron decorated with modeled masks, cabriole legs with masks and grapevines at knees ending in sabot feet, lock plate "Made by P. Sormani Paris for Geo. A. Glaenzer & Co. N.Y.," ht. 29 1/2, 23 x 23, open 31 3/4 x 31 3/4 in.
Note: George A. Glaenzer (1848-1915) was a New York-based decorative painter and decorator whose clients included Frederick William Vanderbilt.
Several small areas of veneer lose. Scattered stains to top.
