Soldier Pleading His Case Before a King. Signed "Zompini" in ink l.l., possibly Gaetano Zompini (1700-1778),stamped "H.S. WATLINGTON" on cardboard backing inserted in the frame. Charcoal on paper, 2 5/8 x 4 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Irregularly trimmed and laid down on secondary paper support, rippling, foxing, pale staining.
