Description:

Three Lada Semecká Art Glass Wall Sculptures, Czech Republic, Still Life, 2001, Alone 3, 2004, and In the Landscape, 2005, fused and acid-etched glass, steel frames, each signed and dated, ht. 12, 18 1/2, 18 1/2, wd. 15 1/2, 24 1/2, 24 1/2, dp. 1, 3/4, 1 1/2 in.

Note: Semecká studied glassmaking and glass art in Kamenický Šenov, Institute of Art and Culture in Ústí nad Labem (doc. Pavel Mizera) and later also at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (prof. Vladimír Kopecký). She worked as an engraver at the Carlsbad´s Moser factory, acted as head of the glass painting studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague an also taught at Toyama City Institute of Glass Art in Japan. She´s been drawing inspiration both from her professional and teaching posts as well as from people around her, fellow teachers, colleagues, students, who have inspired and motivated her, giving her courage to seek her own approach to art. Lada Semecká´s art is deeply emotional. Both her solitary and wall objects can be perceived as paintings in glass. In her glass art, Semecká captures imagination as well as a straightforward and open narrative of her hopes, dreams, ups, and downs.
