Carved Mahogany Side Chair, probably Salem, Massachusetts, c. 1795-1800, the serpentine crest above a splat incorporating a carved sheaf of wheat, acanthus-carved scrolls, waterleaf carving, and a small fluted section, on trapezoidal slip seat joining frontal molded square tapering legs, (imperfections),ht. 37 3/4, seat ht. 17 in.
