Black-painted Candlestand, New England, early 19th century, rectangular top with rounded corners on a turned post and tripod base of cabriole legs, ht. 27, wd. 15 1/2, dp. 20 1/2 in.

there is repair to the lower end of the post where the legs join. The black paint is old but not original, perhaps late 19th century, and there are traces of red underneath in a couple spots.
