N.B. In his series, My Mirage, Jim Shaw referenced cultural and political events of the 1960s and 1970s, including the U.S. moon landings and the Kent State shootings. Here, Shaw appropriated the iconic image of Kent State student Mary Ann Vecchio from John Filo's Pulitzer Prize-winning news photograph.
