Condition: Pinholes to edges (with discoloration),fading near corners, fraying to edges, small tear near l.r. corner.
N.B. Vernon Smith spent much of his career on Cape Cod and worked for the WPA's Federal Art Project as supervisor for the Cape and southeastern Massachusetts during the Depression. In addition to batik designs, Smith also produced paintings, sculpture, bas-relief woodcarvings, and aluminum constructions.
