Signed "John Folinsbee" l.r., titled on an unattributed exhibition label affixed to the back of the frame, inscribed "Delaware R. & Lambertville NJ/from Follensbee's [sic] home in New Hope Pa./Painted about 1930" on a handwritten label affixed to the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in. (40.5 x 50.8 cm),framed.
Condition: Fine craquelure, varnish discoloration, minor surface grime.
Provenance: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morris Burrows; bequest to the Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, Massachusetts; sold to benefit the Clark Art Institute.
