The Old Cramond Bridge on the Almond Near Barnton, Edinburgshire...
Unsigned, location identified on handwritten labels on the reverse.
Oil on panel, 17 x 25 1/8 in. (43.3 x 64.2 cm), framed.
Condition: Surface crack to panel at l.r. edge, scattered retouch, craquelure, accretions, surface grime.

Provenance: A private Worcester, Massachusetts, collection through to the current owner.

N.B. A handwritten label on the reverse indicates that the bridge depicted was Cramond Bridge near Edinburgh, the site of a near robbery of King James V and his rescue by Jock Howieson.
Estimate $1,000-1,500

Hairline crack to panel at l.r. looks to be about 3 inches across. Minor dots and dashes of retouch to sky. Fine craquelure overall.

Framed dimensions are 22 x 30 in.
