Käthe Kollwitz (German, 1867-1945)

Two Plates from Ein Weberaufstand:Beratung, plate 3, probably from the 1921 edition, with the publisher's early single line "VERLAG A.v.d.BECKE.BERLIN" dry stamp, lithograph printed in brown (Knesebeck, 35AIIc); and Ende, plate 6, probably from the 1931 edition, etching and aquatint (Knesebeck, 38IV). Both signed "Kollwitz" in pencil l.l. and inscribed and titled "Weber Bl..." in pencil l.r. Image sizes to 9 3/4 x 12 in. (24.6 x 30.2 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Both with toning and masking tape residue to edges.

Beratung- even toning throughout, signed "Kollowitz" in pencil l.l, with the publisher's early single line "VERLAG A.v.d. BECK.BERLIN" dry stamp, lithograph printed in brown (Knesebeck, 35AIIc),mild scattered foxing, primarily to the margins. Masking tape adhesive residue to the recto, likely from former matting. Six pinpoint holes in all corners near image, singles on top doubles on bottom, from previous small tacking. On verso, there is cloth tape on the top left and small loses to the paper on the top right where the tape has been removed. Small abrasion on verso near top middle. Fading to annotation on l.r. Woven paper

Ende- signed "Kollwitz" in pencil l.l. and inscribed "Weber Bl" in pencil l.r. etching and aquatint (Knesebeck, 38 IV). Six pinpoint holes in all corners near image, singles on top doubles on bottom, previous small tacking. Masking tape adhesive residue to the recto. Tape in top left and right on verso. Scattered foxing on verso. Woven paper
