Double-page folio copper-plate engraved map from Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, with an extensive family tree of the British monarchs on the right side, ending with James I, earlier issue with the cartouche originally containing a dedication to James I in the plate, in this example with typographical italic text printed separately and added as a pasted cancel in two sections flanking the entry for James; hand-colored, mounted on board, losses to area at the foot of the central fold with loss to imprint, surface disruption just west of the Humbert's inlet from the sea, some staining, foxing, mounted on board, 22 3/4 x 17 1/2 in.
