Raffles, Sir Thomas Bingley Stamford (1781-1826) The History of Java. London: for Black, Parbury, and Allen; and John Murray, 1817. First edition, two large quarto volumes, illustrated with engraved frontispieces, one in each volume, two folding typographical tables, one large folding hand-colored map bound at the end of the first volume, ten hand-colored plates depicting people, a folding view of the Temple at Brambanan [Prambanan], and other illustrations, for a total of sixty-six plates, in accordance with those listed in the contents, bound in full contemporary tan calf, tooled in gilt, rebacked, ex libris Sir William Curtis Baronet, with his bookplate in both volumes, 10 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.
