Firefighter Tintype, Late 19th Century. Half-plate photograph depicts a standing fireman, wearing a Gratacap-style helmet that reads "American Hose Company" at the top, with a large number 1 and the initials C.F.D.; he wears a dark double-breasted jacket, and sports a bold belt buckle and a shield, as he leans on a column with geraniums in a photo studio, in an old frame and mat, 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 in.
