Description:
Einstein, Albert (1879-1955) Uber den Einfluss der Schwerdraft auf die Ausbreitung des Lichtes. Leipzig: Johann Ambrosius Barth, 1911. Published in the journal Annalen der Physik, octavo, with original paper covers (detached, badly chipped and damaged),Einstein's essay published on pages 898-908, 8 3/4 x 5 3/4 in.
In this paper, Einstein first posits that the bending of light should be observable during a total solar eclipse. Affirmation of that hypothesis in 1919 directly contributes to Eddington's proof of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.
