First edition, oversized folio, typographical half-title, mounted portrait frontispiece, engraved title, engraved dedication, two typographical leaves of dedication, three-page preface, three-page list of subscribers, twenty-seven pages of introductory text, followed by fifty-four lithographic plates printed on thin india paper and mounted; bound in contemporary half-leather and red buckram boards titled in gilt on front board, spine ornately decorated and lettered in gilt, with bookplate of Carham Hall on ffep, some spotting and foxing, binding somewhat worn, 21 3/4 x 16 in.
