Octavo-format manuscript of approximately 300 pages, with elaborate gilt illuminated double-carpet page title and five full-page miniatures all depicting Muhammad: the Prophet with a dragon, being visited by an angel in a pit, the sacrifice of the lamb, Muhammad splitting the moon, and Muhammad mounting the Buraq for his journey to the seventh heaven as the angel Gabriel steadies the animal, bound in full gilt morocco with flaps; the text ornately lettered with gilt frames, embellishments, chapter heads, and marginal ornaments throughout, 8 x 5 in.
