Contemporary Hopi Polychrome Seed Jar, by Fannie Nampeyo (1900-1987),with small flat base, rounded shoulder and flaring rim, painted in red and black over a burnished orange slip, with a series of four tail-feather motifs, each decorated with a hatched panel containing a star, flanked by a pair of spirals, ht. 7, dia. 12 in.
