Frame bears the stamp of a Swiss-French frame shop, Maison de Cadre, J. L. Peytrequin, Lausanne, on the back.

The signature appears to read "M. Genoud" which could be Marin Genoud (French, 1893-1966),although Genoud seems to have painted primarily landscape,s and there are no auction records of still life paintings ascribed to him.
