George III Mahogany Fall-front Desk, England, late 18th century, oak and mahogany secondary woods, front lid opens to interior with central door flanked by "hidden" drawers, three pigeonholes, and three small drawers, writing surface with paper storage below, two short and three long drawers, sides with brass carrying handles, set on low bracket feet, printed metal label "Ernest Smith Furniture Warehouse Corner of Castle Rd. & Great Southsea St. Southsea," sellers of used furniture c. 1900, ht. 41, writing surface ht. 32, wd. 41, dp. 23 in.
