Two Elizabeth II Sterling Silver Spoons, London, one 1966-67, the other 1970-71, Phillip Van Wyck, maker, in the Arts and Crafts style, one with an applied rat to the joint between handle and stem, lg. 5 3/4; the other with an apostle to terminal, lg. 6 in., approx. 3.2 troy oz.
N.B. These spoons were each modeled after originals by Guild of Handicraft member George Hart. Phillip Van Wyck was a passionate collector, who became interested in silversmithing himself. He subsequently began creating his own pieces with the Hart family in their workshop for number of years.
