Description:

Three-piece George III Sterling Silver Tea Service, London, 1817-18, maker's mark "JH," with chased floral motif throughout, snake handle, and joints to feet cast as masks wearing feathered headdresses, teapot, creamer, and open sugar bowl, teapot ht. 5 1/2 in., approx. 79.5 troy oz.
Estimate $800-1,200

Teapot with losses to edge of ivory insulators (still stable), scattered dents along base (unobtrusive), small dent to foot, and a few minor nicks to handle. Creamer with a few dents to sides, underside of feet. Light surface wear throughout.
