George III Irish Sterling Silver Coffeepot, Dublin, probably late 18th century, lacking date mark, maker's mark over struck with "CT" probably for Charles Townsend, with a pineapple finial and chased rocaille scrolls and floral sprays throughout, ht. 12 1/4 in., approx. 32.3 troy oz.

Finial possibly a replacement or soldered to body later (solder to outer edge, see image of interior lid joint). Handle by the upper joint with small repair. Vacant cartouches with light consistent surface abrasions, no pitting or evident thinness to suggest engraving removal. Shallow, unobtrusive bend to footrim (rocks slightly). Period monogram to underside.
