Agassiz Split-second Pocket Chronograph, c. 1884, enameled porcelain dial with outer minute track, arabic numeral hours and sunk seconds, marked "Agassiz," with gilt pierced hands, damascened 17-jewel stem-wind, lever-set movement marked "88470/adjusted," with Breguet hairspring, housed in a gold-plated display-back case, dia. 51 mm.
Provenance: Collection of Bernhard W. Stoeber.
Note: The display case was made in Switzerland with the help of Tony Simonin in 1995. Movement restored by one of the WOSTEP students.
