Vacheron & Constantin Open-face Watch, c. 1883, enameled roman numeral dial marked "Vacheron & Constantin/Geneva," with sunk seconds at 6, 20-jewel Geneva stripe German silver movement marked "Vacheron & Constantin/267156," with Maltese Cross, housed in a later open-face and display back case.
Provenance: Collection of Bernhard W. Stoeber.
Note: Caliber is based on a LeCoultre ebauche. The caliber table from 1939 does not list a 19 lignes movement with 20 jewels and a height of 6.95 mm. All calibers close to this description were either gold or silver plated, not in German silver.
