Ger. D. Wempe Two-day Chronometer, c. 1940-45, no. 3132, 4 1/2-in. dia. screw bezel enclosing the silvered matte arabic numeral dial with gilt hands, up/down indicator and double circle minute subsidiary dial, marked "Gerh. D. Wempe/Hamburg/Abt. Chronometer-Werke," unusual Swiss lever, free-sprung, helical hairspring and bimetallic compensation balance wheel with four weights and two regulating screws, balance wheel with R. Griesbach markings, all housed in a hinged mahogany box with original tipsy key, box wd. 7 1/2 in.
