Rare Powell & Lealand No. 2 Monocular Microscope, 170 Easton Road, London, c. 1862, lacquered brass instrument with compound monocular scope, rack-and-pinion focusing, arm engraved as above with date "1862," Turrell-type mechanical stage, condenser marked "W. Watson & Sons Ltd./ London/2470," large plano/concave mirror, all mounted on the typical P&L tripod base with inset cork feet, three eyepieces, and two signed objective lenses and accessories, ht. 18 in.
Note: Powell & Lealand were regarded as the finest microscope manufacturers in the Victorian era.
