Small W. & L.E. Gurley Surveyor's Compass, Troy, New York, 4 1/2-in. engraved silvered dial with fleur-de-lis representing north and reading as above, dual spirit levels, outkeeper sighting vanes, housed in its original mahogany box.

Provenance: The collection of William H. Skerritt.

Note: Two typed acknowledgement receipts to L.J. Houston & Co., Stockton, Maryland, 1901 and 1902, from W. & L.E. Gurley accompany the lot.
